July 29, 2025 (DIO): Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday virtually laid the foundation stone for the construction of hostels in various schools across Manipur under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) schemes.
As part of this initiative, Naree Kalyan Vidyalaya, Nambol Sabal Leikai in Bishnupur district has been selected for hostel construction under DA-JGUA. The project is aimed at improving educational infrastructure and supporting the upliftment of tribal communities in the state.
Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, attended the virtual ceremony at the school premises, which was organized under the supervision of the Directorate of Education (S). She expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education and highlighted the significance of strengthening the education system for building a better and more responsible society.
The DC also emphasized the need for holistic development of students, encouraging educators to guide and mentor children with empathy rather than focusing only on academic achievements.
The event was attended by Chief Engineer Yumnam Bhochao Singh, ZEO Atom Gunami, and other officials.
