APRIL 1, 2026 (IMP): The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has given in-principle approval for raising one Mahila (women) Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) for Manipur and has also asked Manipur CM Y Khemchand to send the proposal for setting up the women’s IRB Battalion on Wednesday.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, met the Manipur Chief Minister, Y Khemchand, and discussed the state’s law and order situation at the Parliament House complex on Wednesday at around 11:30 in the morning.
The Manipur CM, Khemchand, rushed to New Delhi last evening for the said meeting with the Union Home Minister. The Union Home Minister also reviewed the prevailing security scenario in Manipur with the Chief Minister.
The Union Home Minister also directed the Chief Minister to accelerate the present peace process and consolidate the growing bonhomie among different communities.
