Union HM Amit Shah Spoke to Manipur Governor and Assured All Possible Help for Tackling Issue

In the wake of the current heavy rainfall and the flood situation in Manipur, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on the issue. The Union Home Minister also assured the state of every possible help to tackle any situation.

“The Modi Government stands like a rock in support of the people of the Northeast,” the Union Home Minister posted on his mega-blogging account, X.

The flood currently faced by the state has caused damage to at least 883 houses, affecting 3,802 individuals, and the number is expected to rise if the situation worsens. There are also reports of landslides in 12 different locations in the hill districts of Manipur.

There are no official reports of human casualties; however, it has been reported that 64 animals died due to floods and landslides till Sunday evening.

Rescue operations have been put into action by both government and non-government volunteers in various local areas greatly affected by the water; houses and living spaces have been submerged under water.
