Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta visited Churachandpur on November 11 to review development activities and assess the progress of Central and State government schemes.
He was received at the Mini Secretariat by Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S., along with district officers, representatives of displaced persons, and scheme beneficiaries. In a review meeting held at the Conference Hall, the district administration reiterated its commitment to inclusive growth and welfare.
Five students from displaced families who excelled in board examinations were felicitated during the event, highlighting the government’s focus on education and rehabilitation. Participants of the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas 2025 competitions were also honoured.
Tamta distributed benefits under flagship programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
Special recognition was given to Lalthazam, CEO of ADCC, Seiminthang, ADC of Churachandpur, and two Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) Fellows for their contribution to local development efforts.
Concluding the visit, Tamta conducted a review of departmental works across various sectors, interacted with officials, and assured sustained Central support to strengthen implementation and address on-ground challenges in the district.
