The United Brother’s Sporting Association (UBSA), a local club of Mantak Village, has extended recognition to the Mantak Kom Cultural Association’s initiative to publish Kom community folk songs and folktales in book form.
According to a release issued by the UBSA Mantak Secretary, the Mantak Kom Cultural Association was formed two years ago at Mantak, with its headquarters at BPO Mantak, PO Kakching, and Mangte Aphar Kom as President.
On June 5 this year, the Association organized a gathering where members unanimously resolved to preserve and publish folk songs and folktales passed down by elders of the Kom community. Following the decision, the UBSA Mantak President officially supported and recognized the project.
