Unity March in Bishnupur Marks Sardar@150 Celebration with Call for National Unity and Self-Reliance

November 10, 2025 — The spirit of unity and patriotism was on full display as Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Manipur Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, together with Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam, flagged off the Sardar@150 Unity March for Bishnupur Block from Kiyamba Sanglen, Bishnupur.

The event, organised under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports by the District Administration Bishnupur, with support from My Bharat and the NSS Cell, Manipur, saw enthusiastic participation from students, My Bharat volunteers, and members of the Bharat Scouts & Guides.

In her address, DC Pooja Elangbam commended the youth and volunteers for their active involvement and urged them to take part in building a stronger nation. Reflecting on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s role in uniting the country, she emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and national service, reminding participants that unity and progress are shared duties of every citizen.

MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, serving as the Chief Guest, highlighted the relevance of organizing Unity Marches across India to commemorate Sardar Patel’s vision. He encouraged the youth to foster patriotism, civic sense, and self-reliance, aligning their efforts with the ideals of an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. He also led the gathering in taking the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge.

The event was attended by SP Bishnupur Th. Shanker Deva, State Director of My Bharat Manipur L. Marjit Singh, District Nominee Heisnam Iboyaima, and other district officials.
