The observance was led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, with the Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner, district-level officers, officials, and staff in attendance. As a mark of respect, the gathering observed a brief silence in memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation.

In a parallel programme, staff members of the SDO Office Kakching also observed Vijay Diwas at their office premises within the Mini Secretariat Complex, remembering the courage and sacrifice of India’s war heroes.

Vijay Diwas is observed every year on December 16 to commemorate India’s historic military success in the 1971 war and to pay tribute to the soldiers whose dedication and sacrifice shaped a defining moment in the nation’s history.
