A violent clash shook Khangabok Arongthong Makhong, Thoubal District, this morning following allegations of a mob vandalizing the property of Waikhom Somen, also known as Tayai.
The incident reportedly arose from an ongoing dispute over land ownership.
Tensions escalated due to the sudden installation of a pillar by Somen, situated at the disputed boundary between his private property and village land, according to local sources.
In response to the unrest, law enforcement authorities swiftly intervened, employing tear gas shells to disperse the crowd and restore order. Police efforts successfully brought the situation back under control.
