Unable to bear the brunt of the disgraceful road conditions along a stretch in Senapati District of Manipur, a concerned citizen has raised serious concern, calling the attention of the authorities to make the road fit for travel soon.
The citizen, drawing the authority’s attention, voiced that commuters — including medical emergency patients, school students, and businesspersons — are facing severe hardships due to the poor condition of the road. There have also been instances of unfortunate incidents while traveling on the said stretch. The citizen further questioned the District Administration’s (DC) silence over the deteriorating condition.
Meanwhile, Manipur Congress President K. Meghachandra, condemning the road condition, said the “double-engine government” has failed to construct and maintain the very lifeline of Manipur. The Congress, in a post on X, wrote, “The condition of national highways in the state is horrible, with no signs of repair, maintenance, or improvement. The suffering of the people who travel on these roads is unprecedented in the history of Manipur.”
