Wangkhei AC MLA Th. Arunkumar today highlighted the mounting challenges faced by local clubs and Meira Paibi groups in balancing their organisational responsibilities while actively engaging in pressing issues of the State.
Speaking at the 59th Foundation Day celebration of WAL United Club at Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Imphal East, the MLA lauded the unwavering contributions of the club towards social causes and community development.
He noted that the role of a club today is no longer confined to leisure or sports alone but has evolved into a vital social institution addressing crucial issues of the land.
He further acknowledged WAL United Club’s sustained efforts in navigating difficult times while carrying forward constructive activities with far-reaching impact.
The programme was also attended by founder member RK Sanajaoba, DM College Associate Professor Dr. N. Achouba, Club President RK Gokulchandra, Advisor Angom Tomba, and Wangkhei Social Welfare Association President Angom Ibotombi, among others.
