Jan. 31, 2025: After sailing through the tough water, S Bindyarani Devi and L Nilam Devi of Manipur stood together at the podium, telling with pride that they are not weak daughter from Manipur in Weightlifting (Women’s 55 Kg).
Manipur’s S Bindyarani Devi lifted ‘Gold’ in clean and jerk setting a new record, when every eye was set on her and the commentator in the event shouted, “What a champion, what a champion!”, while L Nilam Devi clinches Bronze.
In the medal tally, as of now, Manipur has secured 12 medals; 7 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 Bronze.
