Sept 10, 2026 (Imphal): Many fuel outlets (oil pumps) in the state capital, Imphal, shut their service operations during the morning hours on Thursday, citing ‘petrol nil’ after sensing indications and the possibility of an economic blockade in Manipur, to be imposed by the Naga apex body, the United Naga Council (UNC).
However, later during the afternoon hours, many of the fuel outlets reopened their services to the public. The fuel outlets seen closed during the morning hours included the Nandeibam Leikal oil pump and the Akampat oil pump. However, the oil pump located at Andro Parking was seen operating in full swing without any disturbance.
It has been reported that multiple goods trucks from Suritan are said to be stranded at Khuraijan Dangmai (Noney) on National Highway 37 (NH-37). Due to an indefinite economic blockade in Manipur called by the Naga apex body, multiple goods-carrying vehicles from Suritan are reportedly stranded at Khuraijan Dangmai (Noney) on National Highway 37 (NH-37).
