In the early hours of Tuesday, Thoubal district police and BSF units swooped down on a residence at Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mathak Leikai, arresting a woman and seizing narcotic items, while her husband managed to evade capture.
Acting on inputs from YADAM and FGT Imphal BSF, the joint team led by ASP (LO), along with CDO, women police, an executive magistrate, and BSF units D-111, B-29, and C-01, launched the raid around 2 AM.
During the search, the wife of Md. Abas Khan, identified as Ruhina, was taken into custody after recovery of 120 SAMPFX+ capsules, 29 bottles of TUSSREX-TR cough syrup, and eight empty soap cases suspected to have been used for concealment.
Identity documents of both husband and wife were also seized. All exhibits were sealed on the spot in the presence of witnesses. Police confirmed that Khan was not at home during the raid and remains absconding. The arrested woman and seized items have been handed over to Thoubal Police Station for further investigation.
