WWAGS Observes 67th Foundation Day

The Wangjing Women and Girls Society (WWAGS), Manipur, observed its 67th Foundation Day on Monday at the Central Hall of the Society with a formal programme.

As part of the observance, floral tributes were paid to the photograph of late Laishram Suvakumar, a prominent leader who played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Society, as a mark of respect and remembrance.

Members of the Society’s Board, senior women leaders, and representatives from various sections of the community attended the programme and actively took part in the proceedings.

During the event, appreciation and recognition were extended to the Society’s staff and members for their dedicated services and contributions towards the various activities and programmes undertaken by the organisation. The efforts and achievements of those associated with the Society were also highlighted.

Speaking on the occasion, WWAGS Secretary Laishram Premananda stated that the Society has been carrying out various welfare and developmental programmes for women across six blocks in Manipur, besides extending its activities to 19 blocks in Assam and six blocks in West Bengal.

Former Minister Dr. M. Nara, while addressing the gathering, elaborated on the milestones achieved by the Society and acknowledged its sustained contributions towards the empowerment and welfare of women and girls over the decades.
