April 6, 2026 : A series of community-oriented initiatives focusing on youth empowerment and public health were carried out across Manipur on Monday, reaching residents in Churachandpur and Chandel districts.
According to a press release issued by the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), a career guidance and counselling session was organised at The Dawn School in Churachandpur by a Veng-based unit. The programme aimed at equipping students with knowledge on diverse career opportunities, including avenues to join the Indian Armed Forces.
During the session, participants were briefed on various entry schemes, eligibility criteria, and training processes. Emphasis was laid on values such as discipline, leadership, and service, encouraging students to pursue purposeful career paths. Altogether, 198 students attended the programme and actively engaged in the interactive session, gaining clearer insights into future prospects.
In a separate initiative promoting community well-being, a mass yoga session was conducted at Aibol Joupi in Chandel district on the same day. The programme focused on enhancing physical fitness and mental wellness through basic yoga practices and breathing techniques.
A total of 44 villagers, including men, women, and children, participated in the session under the guidance of a trained instructor. The activity encouraged the adoption of healthier lifestyles while also fostering awareness of the importance of holistic health.
The release further stated that such outreach efforts continue to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between security forces and local communities, particularly in remote border areas.
