March 05, 2026 (IMP): In remembrance of the brave fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the cause of the rights, identity, and future of the Zeliangrong community, the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) observed Martyr’s Day, paying rich tribute to those cadres who made the supreme sacrifice at Dilung Council Headquarters on Thursday.
According to a statement from ZUF Secretary, Information and Publicity, Louis Gangmei, the observance commenced at 7:00 in the morning, moderated by Brigadier MK Ajona Kamei, GSO-1 of Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF), and began with an opening prayer led by the Home Secretary, followed by a condolence message from the Zeliangrong Tiger Force.
The Martyrs’ List was pronounced by Brigadier MK Ajona Kamei after a silent observance in memory of the fallen heroes, and floral tributes were also paid to the martyrs as a mark of respect, followed by a gun salute performed in honour of the fallen heroes.
In his keynote address, Retd General Jenchui Kamei, Chairman, Zeliangrong United Front, paid homage to the martyrs and reiterated commitment to the ideals and aspirations for which they sacrificed their lives. The programme concluded with a closing prayer led by PO Meidinlung Kamei, RTO, Ashalu Region, ZUF.
On the occasion, the Zeliangrong United Front called upon the people to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and to continue working collectively for unity, peace, and political aspiration for the Zeliangrong community.
