ZUF Talks with GoI Gaining Momentum, Marks Its 15th Raising Day at Mount Ararat HQ

Feb 25, 2025: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), which has entered into political talks with the Government of India, marked its 15th Raising Day at its camp, Mount Ararat HQ, on Tuesday with the theme Defending Freedom, Pursuing Peace.

The group, which signed a Cessation of Operation (CoO) Agreement with the GoI on December 27, 2022, also held the first round of political talks in Delhi on April 20, 2023.

During the function, ZUF Home Secretary Felix Kamei urged the Zeliangrong kindred people to remain hopeful and assured them that the long-cherished dream of the people would be realized through the ongoing political talks with the Government of India (GoI), said a statement issued by the outfit.

The statement added that Felix Kamei also mentioned that the talks are progressing toward their logical conclusion and are anticipated to be finalized soon. He urged the GoI to expedite the process for an early settlement, warning that any delay might provoke public outcry and agitation, adding more problems to the already conflicting situation in the region.

ZUF Chairman Jenchui Kamei stated that the Zeliangrong kindred people have come this far to witness and celebrate the 15th Raising Day of their Front, which began in 2011. The day is remembered with the spirit of bravery, patriotism, and victory, the statement said.

According to the statement, the Zeliangrong political issues are now being tabled for a final settlement that is acceptable and pragmatic in contemporary society and politics. The fifth round of talks has been held with the GoI in the name of the Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee, and progress has been gaining ground, approaching a final resolution.
